Scooter
Scooter was my mum’s dog. When our beautiful Yorkie died of heart failure, Don searched the web and found his litter. Because of the house rabbits and also mum being disabled, we had to have a pup that could grow up around loose bunnies and also have a dog that was small enough for mum to handle. He likes to think he is the boss around here. When mum was dying, he would guard her bed, which made life very difficult for the nurses who came in several times a day. It took him a while to adjust to life without her and it is only now he is getting back to his usual funny self. He bosses all the other animals about, and tries to do the same with me and Don, but we try not to let him get away with it. Well, not all the time.
Pippin
Pippin is very much my boy. He was the only puppy in the litter and so has had a lot of trouble relating to other dogs, even though he lives with Scooter and also Barney, our old Miniature poodle that died of old age last year. He has been a challenge and still is really. He is the most intelligent dog I have ever had and with that intelligence comes problems. He is into everything. He is 2 years old now and still puppy like in his ability to dismantle a room, taking anything that can be moved into his den in the kitchen! He learns tricks really quickly and has daily clicker training sessions with scooter, to keep his brain occupied with less naughty behaviour. He has the feet of a huge bear, eyes that can melt the hardest heart and the soul of a poet.
Sunny
Sunny is the new kid on the block. He is a black toy poodle puppy and absolutely gorgeous.
Like all poodles he is very intelligent and extremely good at getting his own way. He thinks he is bigger than he is and wants to cut up rough with the big boys. Persuading him he needs to grow a bit before he can race around the garden like it is a greyhound track, takes some doing! He is a lovely boy though and we can’t wait to get to know him more fully as he grows up.
