This site has two purposes, the first is to share these wonderful creatures with you, and the second, to help you care for and understand your own animal and bird companions better.
We have always had a house full of animals, many of them have been rescued from bad situations and many have had serious health problems. They all have the same amazing things in common, a love of life, a completely forgiving spirit and they all give out unconditional love and friendship. They are great teachers of how to get the most out of life and how to give the most. They are truly great gifts to us all.

BIRDS, BIRDS, BIRDS!
Our bird family consists of 6 African greys, 2 lorikeets and 1 Java dove. ! We used to be a parrot rescue and Tracy wrote for the British magazine ‘Parrots’ on all aspects of companion parrot care and many of her articles are published on this web site. Our parrots are just like other human members of our family. They are highly intelligent and emotional creatures who interact with us on a very high level of communication.
Many of them have had a terrible past and this has left them with complex emotional and behavioural problems. Some of them feather pluck. All are happy fun loving birds that are slowly recovering from their pasts and teaching us so much while they do. Most of them talk and have us in hoots of laughter with their use of appropriate language. They get on very well with the dogs and rabbits, all our animals enjoy living in a multi species household!

Well, there is Don & Tracy, Don is a retired chief engineer, who is interested in ecology and the environment. Don & Tracy, his daughter, are interested in animal welfare and committed to a vegetarian lifestyle.
Tracy spent many years in parrot rescue and became a writer for ‘Parrots’ magazine. Tracy obtained a “Distinction”, in the J.C.Biology course “Diploma in Animal Behaviour” . We are both committed Christians and believe that all of God’s creatures have a right to a good quality of life and all life has a spirit. We believe that all of God’s creation is important, not just us humans!
